I am giving you this reading list so that your summer may be filled with a memorable thought provoking, heart warming, and glorious time savoring and fostering thoughts of God, the gospel, and Christ. These books I highly recommend; some will be oldies and some new. A little of both, as well as a little light reading and challenging reading. Place your mind into it. A biography, a theology, and a topic of great concern.

1. Holiness by JC Ryle (best treatise on the doctrine of sanctification)

2. Slave by John Macarthur (awesome treatment on our identity of being bond-slaves to Christ)

3. Think by John Piper (wow what a  book on learning to be thinkers as a pathway to loving God and others, a must read)

4. Desiring God by John Piper (modern day classic on Christian Hedonism)

5. The discipline of Spiritual Discernment (must read on the topic of achieving Christian maturity, not what most Christians think maturity is)

6. Finally Alive by John Piper (treatment on the doctrine of regeneration/new birth)

7. Mere Christianity by CS Lewis (treatment of the essential doctrines of Christianity)

8. Don’t waste your life by John Piper ( amust read to achieve your goal in life)

9. The holiness of God RC Sproul ( a must read on the holy character of God)

10. The knowledge of the Holy AW Tozer (a must read to expose you to the attributes of God in a Tozer classic way)

11. George Whitefield a biography by Dr Dallimore (short one)

12. Here I stand a biography on Luther by Roland Bainton (oh the life of Luther!!)

13. The Scandal of the evangelical mind by Mark Noll (treatment on the Anti-intellectualism so rampant in Christians)

14. Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God by JI Packer (the balance of freedom and sovereignty, a modern classic)

15. Grace Awakening by Chuck Swindoll ( a must read to fight off the shackles of legalism and false piety)
